A man has died fol­low­ing a po­lice in­volved shoot­ing at Beetham Gar­dens ear­ly this morn­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, mem­bers of the In­ter Agency Task Force were on pa­trol, around 12:20 am, at Phase Five, when they saw sev­er­al men who were al­leged­ly armed with high pow­ered ri­fles.

The of­fi­cers claim that the men be­gan run­ning when they saw the po­lice ve­hi­cle.

As of­fi­cers gave chase, it was al­leged that one sus­pect con­front­ed the of­fi­cers by point­ing a firearm at them.

The of­fi­cers shot at the men and one of the fell to the ground with gun­shot wounds.

The sus­pect was tak­en to hos­pi­tal where he died.

One A-R 15 ri­fle with a mag­a­zine was al­leged­ly re­cov­ered at the scene.

The vic­tim's iden­ti­ty is yet to be con­firmed by po­lice.
