A man was killed and a shot­gun seized dur­ing a po­lice-in­volved shoot­ing in the East­ern Di­vi­sion on Mon­day morn­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, of­fi­cers of the Ma­yaro Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment re­ceived in­for­ma­tion about a man armed with a gun in the Guayagua­yare dis­trict around 2 am on Oc­to­ber 27, 2025.

When of­fi­cers ar­rived, they saw a man run in­to a wood­en struc­ture and re­trieve an ob­ject re­sem­bling a firearm from un­der a bed. The man re­port­ed­ly point­ed the ob­ject at the of­fi­cers, and sev­er­al click­ing sounds were heard. Of­fi­cers gave ver­bal com­mands for him to drop the weapon, but he did not com­ply.

In ac­cor­dance with the Use of Force Pol­i­cy, of­fi­cers dis­charged their firearms, hit­ting the man about the body. He was tak­en to the Ma­yaro Health Fa­cil­i­ty, where he died. The de­ceased has been iden­ti­fied as Ains­ley Glenn Gon­za­les of Ma­yaro. A sawed-off shot­gun was re­cov­ered from the scene. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.

Mean­while, in the North­ern Di­vi­sion, Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise in La Hor­quet­ta be­tween 6 pm and 9 pm on Oc­to­ber 26, 2025. Dur­ing the op­er­a­tion, of­fi­cers searched the home of a 27-year-old male sus­pect and found 1.175 kilo­grammes of cannabis.

The ex­er­cise was co­or­di­nat­ed by Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent May­nard-Wil­son, Su­per­in­ten­dent McKen­zie, As­sis­tant Su­per­in­ten­dent Pitt, and led by In­spec­tor Gadar.
