One man has been ar­rest­ed by of­fi­cers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (NDTF), af­ter he was found in pos­ses­sion of a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion.

Ear­li­er to­day, of­fi­cers of the NDTF Area West, re­spond­ed to a re­port of a rob­bery in progress and had cause to stop and search a sil­ver Nis­san Ti­i­da mo­tor ve­hi­cle be­ing dri­ven by a known pri­or­i­ty of­fend­er.

The ve­hi­cle was searched and re­sult­ed in of­fi­cers find­ing a Glock 17 pis­tol loaded with 10 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

The sus­pect was ar­rest­ed and in­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.

Mean­while, one re­volver with a lone round of am­mu­ni­tion was found hid­den in a bushy area along Sun­flower Dri­ve, Farm Road, St. Joseph.

No ar­rests were made in con­nec­tion with this find.
