“I am now even more inspired to continue my work.”

This was the statement from Professor Sterling Frost last night, after being named as one of two winners of the country’s highest award this year.

Frost won the Order of the Republic of T&T for his contribution in the spheres of Banking, Education and Community Service.

According to the profile from President’s House: “Professor Frost is a leading expert in the field of banking and finance with decades of experience managing and strategising for a range of institutions locally and abroad. He has held senior positions in several organisations and is currently the Deputy Chairman of the Public Service Commission. Professor Frost has for over four decades championed human development, the environment and the arts, and has contributed significantly to various government, academic and civil society organisations.”

Frost, the Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer of First Citizens—Operations and Administration, was appointed to the Statutory Authorities Service Commission (SASC) last month.

“It is my privilege and honour, to not only be considered for the nation’s highest honour, but to be bestowed with the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. When I consider the distinguished men and women who have received this honour before me, men and women from various disciplines who have made invaluable contributions to our country and to the lives of so many people, this carries even more significance for me,” Frost said.

“My passion and my motivation have always been about making a difference in the lives of people and contributing in whatever way I can to help change our country for the better. And so, while I feel an immense sense of pride and joy, I am now even more inspired to continue my work,” he added.

Frost congratulated Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram, who also won the ORTT this year, as well as all other recipients of this year’s national awards.

Frost has a Master’s degree and a Doctorate in Business Administration from The University of the West Indies.

In February 2019, he was the first person in the history of The UWI to be appointed Professor of Practice: Management Studies, in recognition of his professional competence, distinguished practice, notable teaching and service contributions.
