Par­tic­i­pants were drenched in vi­brant colours and laugh­ter as the Pan­davas Group host­ed Phag­wa cel­e­bra­tions at Palmiste Park, San Fer­nan­do yes­ter­day.

Cel­e­brat­ing the aus­pi­cious oc­ca­sion al­so called Holi — which sym­bol­is­es uni­ty, re­new­al and the tri­umph of good over evil — peo­ple ar­rived with bar­rels and kegs filled with abeer, armed with spray guns and pow­dered dyes.

Fam­i­lies, friends and strangers alike joined the joy­ous cel­e­bra­tion, danc­ing, laugh­ing and freely splash­ing colour on each oth­er as mu­sic and live en­ter­tain­ment filled the park.

Phag­wa fes­tiv­i­ties were al­so held in sev­er­al com­mu­ni­ties across South Trinidad, in­clud­ing Bar­rack­pore and Pe­nal.
