For­mer Min­is­ter in the Min­istry of Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Sub­has Pan­day wants the Gov­ern­ment to amend the An­ti-Gang Act to in­clude white-col­lar crimes com­mit­ted by politi­cians.

In a me­dia con­fer­ence at his San Fer­nan­do law cham­bers Thurs­day, Pan­day said that the of­fences for which Port-of-Spain South MP Mar­lene Mc­Don­ald, her hus­band Michael Carew, for­mer chair­man of the Na­tion­al Com­mis­sion for Self Help Edgar Zephyrine, Wayne An­tho­ny and Vic­tor McEachrane share char­ac­ter­is­tics with gang be­hav­iour.

Mc­Don­ald, who was fired as Min­is­ter of Pub­lic Ad­min­is­tra­tion on Mon­day, was charged with mis­be­hav­iour in pub­lic of­fice, mon­ey laun­der­ing and con­spir­a­cy to de­fraud the gov­ern­ment. Carew, Zephyrine, An­tho­ny and McEachrane were charged with sim­i­lar of­fences.
