Parts of South-West Trinidad will be with­out a pipe-borne wa­ter sup­ply to­mor­row, Wednes­day June 16th, be­tween the hours of 8:00 am and mid­night, ac­cord­ing to an ad­vi­so­ry is­sued by the Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty.

How­ev­er, the wa­ter au­thor­i­ty as­sures cus­tomers that a lim­it­ed truck-borne wa­ter ser­vice will be avail­able up­on re­quest.

WASA ex­plains the wa­ter sup­ply dis­rup­tion is nec­es­sary in or­der to fa­cil­i­tate emer­gency re­pairs to a leak on the 36-inch trans­mis­sion pipeline in the vicin­i­ty of the di­ver­sion as­so­ci­at­ed with South Oropouche In­ter­change, be­ing done as part of the Solomon Ho­choy High­way Ex­pan­sion Project.

Ar­eas af­fect­ed in­clude:

●   Ota­heite

●   Dow Vil­lage

●   Mon De­sir

●   Rousil­lac

●   Aripero

●   Chi­nese Vil­lage

●   Sobo

Cus­tomers are ad­vised that it may take up to 24 hours for the sched­uled pipe borne wa­ter sup­ply to nor­mal­ize to some af­fect­ed ar­eas fol­low­ing the com­ple­tion of these re­pair works.
