A 36-year-old labour­er from Pe­nal was de­nied bail when he ap­peared vir­tu­al­ly be­fore Se­nior Mag­is­trate (Ag) Aden Stroude at the Siparia Mag­is­trates’ Court yes­ter­day.
Travis Ali , aka ‘Fox’, who is charged with pos­ses­sion of a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion, was re­mand­ed in­to cus­tody and the mat­ter was post­poned to May 18th.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, around 6 am on April 30th a par­ty of of­fi­cers ex­e­cut­ed a search war­rant for firearms and am­mu­ni­tion at a house at Beck­les Street, Pe­nal. Of­fi­cers searched the premis­es, where they al­leged­ly found a firearm fit­ted with a mag­a­zine, which con­tained ten rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

PC Seep­er­sad then ar­rest­ed and lat­er charged the ac­cused with pos­ses­sion of a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion. The ex­er­cise was led by Sgt Haynes, Cpl Lake, PC Seep­er­sad and of­fi­cers of the Siparia CID and SWDTF
