"They come to kill me." Those were the chill­ing words of a Pe­nal man sec­onds be­fore he was fa­tal­ly shot by ban­dits at his home on Mon­day night.

As they es­caped, the ban­dits rolled over the body of 34-year-old labour­er Bran­don Har­riper­sad.

Dur­ing the or­deal, Har­riper­sad's fa­ther, Shel­don Har­riper­sad, 54, was al­so shot and is hos­pi­talised.

Around 10:45 pm, Har­riper­sad was in the garage area of his home at Batchiya Vil­lage when his rel­a­tives heard him shout, "Al­lyuh, they come to kill me."

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, a fe­male rel­a­tive who was in­side the house heard sev­er­al gun­shots and as she opened the front door, two masked gun­men ac­cost­ed her.

They de­mand­ed cash, jew­ellery and the keys of her white Maz­da 3. As they es­caped in her car, they rolled over Har­riper­sad's body.
