A 68-year-old pen­sion­er died af­ter his car crashed near Paria Suites Ho­tel in La Ro­maine on Fri­day night. Rod­er­ick Seales of Lange Street, Vista­bel­la, was alone in his blue Nis­san Cal­i­for­nia ve­hi­cle, po­lice said. Ac­cord­ing to ini­tial re­ports, he was dri­ving north along the South Trunk Road around 7.25 pm when he crashed in­to a con­crete pil­lar and a light pole. He was tak­en to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal via a Fire Ser­vice am­bu­lance, but he was dead on ar­rival. The cause of the ac­ci­dent is still be­ing in­ves­ti­gat­ed. An au­top­sy is ex­pect­ed to be done this week.
