In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to Wednes­day’s mur­der of a pen­sion­er at his home in Va­len­cia.

The bloody body of Mo­han Singh, 71, was dis­cov­ered around 4 pm on Valen­tine’s Day by a fe­male friend who had gone in search of him af­ter sev­er­al calls to his cell phone went unan­swered.

Singh lived alone at Sil­i­ca Sand Road, which is off the Va­len­cia By­pass.

Po­lice said that the friend had last seen and spo­ken to Singh on Tues­day af­ter­noon, as they spent time to­geth­er be­fore she left for her home.

The woman re­port­ed­ly be­came alarmed af­ter she was un­able to reach him ear­li­er on Wednes­day.

Opt­ing to go to his home af­ter sev­er­al calls to him went unan­swered as she was wor­ried, the friend ar­rived and found Singh’s body, which bore sev­er­al stab wounds, in the house.

She lat­er alert­ed the po­lice and neigh­bours who ar­rived at the scene.

Of­fi­cers were un­able to say if any­thing was stolen from the house, and a mo­tive for the killing was yet to be as­cer­tained up to yes­ter­day.
