A woman and three men pretending to be passengers robbed a PH driver of his vehicle, money, and cell phone.

Steve King, 66, was plying his white Nissan AD wagon for hire along Harris Promenade, San Fernando, around 10:30 pm on Thursday, when he picked up a woman and three men.

The woman sat in the front seat and asked to be taken to Penal.

When they got to Food Basket Grocery in Penal, the woman asked King to take them to Lowkie Trace to collect some items from someone.

King turned onto Lowkie Trace and as they headed towards the end of the road, the woman asked him to stop the wagon because she wanted to urinate on the side of the road.

She came out of the vehicle along with the men. One of the suspects accosted the driver and announced a hold-up.

Fearful for his life, he complied when the suspects ordered him out of his vehicle.

They robbed King of his black Digicel cellphone, his wallet containing $45, his identification card and driver's permit, as well as $200 from his shirt pocket.

The female and male suspects then got back into King’s vehicle valued at $35,000 and sped off, leaving him behind.

King then walked to a nearby house and asked the resident for a phone to call the police.

Penal police are investigating.
