Of­fi­cers from the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (NDTF)-South came in for high com­men­da­tion from Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice, Er­la Christo­pher af­ter they seized over $3.6 mil­lion worth of liq­uid co­caine on Fri­day 9th Feb­ru­ary.

In a state­ment the CoP stat­ed, “We com­mend the of­fi­cers for their vig­i­lance and pro­fes­sion­al­ism in this sig­nif­i­cant seizure. We re­main com­mit­ted to dis­rupt­ing the drug trade, dis­man­tling all drug traf­fick­ing net­works and pro­tect­ing our com­mu­ni­ties.”

Po­lice re­ports said PCs Brew­ster, Dun­can and Ram­lochan of NDTF- South were on mo­bile pa­trol when they re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that the oc­cu­pants of a Toy­ota Voxy mo­tor ve­hi­cle were in pos­ses­sion of il­le­gal nar­cotics.

Af­ter this in­for­ma­tion was re­layed to ASP Ag Pitt, he co­or­di­nat­ed a plan of ac­tion.

Around 1:30 pm, the of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to Chootoo Road, Aranguez, where they in­ter­cept­ed the said ve­hi­cle.

Up­on search­ing the ve­hi­cle, they dis­cov­ered sev­er­al food items.

Fur­ther in­spec­tion re­vealed three "pan­cake syrup" bot­tles and three "co­conut oil" bot­tles re­port­ed­ly con­tain­ing a to­tal of ap­prox­i­mate­ly 2.625 litres of liq­uid co­caine.

The es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of the seized nar­cotics is $3,659,040.

Three in­di­vid­u­als were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find, a 32- year-old who re­sides at Clay­ton Bay and Bon Air Gar­dens, Arou­ca, a 46-year-old from La Hor­quet­ta and a 55-years-old who re­sides in Aranguez.
