Officers from the Northern Division Task Force (NDTF)-South came in for high commendation from Commissioner of Police, Erla Christopher after they seized over $3.6 million worth of liquid cocaine on Friday 9th February.
In a statement the CoP stated, “We commend the officers for their vigilance and professionalism in this significant seizure. We remain committed to disrupting the drug trade, dismantling all drug trafficking networks and protecting our communities.”
Police reports said PCs Brewster, Duncan and Ramlochan of NDTF- South were on mobile patrol when they received information that the occupants of a Toyota Voxy motor vehicle were in possession of illegal narcotics.
After this information was relayed to ASP Ag Pitt, he coordinated a plan of action.
Around 1:30 pm, the officers proceeded to Chootoo Road, Aranguez, where they intercepted the said vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered several food items.
Further inspection revealed three "pancake syrup" bottles and three "coconut oil" bottles reportedly containing a total of approximately 2.625 litres of liquid cocaine.
The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is $3,659,040.
Three individuals were arrested in connection with the find, a 32- year-old who resides at Clayton Bay and Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, a 46-year-old from La Horquetta and a 55-years-old who resides in Aranguez.
