Po­lice dogs sniffed out a quan­ti­ty of drugs dur­ing a raid at the Tu­na­puna Mar­ket yes­ter­day. Po­lice say around 10 a.m. of­fi­cers of the North Cen­tral and North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force, Arou­ca, Tu­na­puna, and St. Joseph Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment along with the Ca­nine Unit con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise at the Tu­na­puna Mar­ket and en­vi­rons.

The dogs, Nero, Am­mo, Edo and Choco dis­cov­ered 501 grammes of mar­i­jua­na at dif­fer­ent lo­ca­tions along the mar­ket.

The items were seized and tak­en to the sta­tion for pro­cess­ing.

A 19-year-old man from Tacarigua was ar­rest­ed for Pos­ses­sion of Co­caine and Pos­ses­sion of an Ap­pa­ra­tus. While a 69-year-old man from Ca­roni was al­so ar­rest­ed for Pos­ses­sion of Cannabis. The men were tak­en to the sta­tion where they are as­sist­ing the po­lice with their in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
