Police dogs sniffed out a quantity of drugs during a raid at the Tunapuna Market yesterday. Police say around 10 a.m. officers of the North Central and Northern Division Task Force, Arouca, Tunapuna, and St. Joseph Criminal Investigations Department along with the Canine Unit conducted an exercise at the Tunapuna Market and environs.
The dogs, Nero, Ammo, Edo and Choco discovered 501 grammes of marijuana at different locations along the market.
The items were seized and taken to the station for processing.
A 19-year-old man from Tacarigua was arrested for Possession of Cocaine and Possession of an Apparatus. While a 69-year-old man from Caroni was also arrested for Possession of Cannabis. The men were taken to the station where they are assisting the police with their investigation.
