Po­lice are fol­low­ing leads in con­nec­tion with the seizure of a re­volver on Fri­day morn­ing in the Care­nage dis­trict.

The firearm, which was found in an open lot of land along Lanse Mi­lan Road, Care­nage, by of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (WDTF), is be­ing processed by crime scene ex­perts.

The seizure was made fol­low­ing a tip re­ceived by po­lice who lat­er mount­ed an ex­er­cise in search of the weapon.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, around 8.15 am on April 5, WDTF of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to Lanse Mi­tan Road, Care­nage, where they con­duct­ed checks on an open lot of land.

At 8.45 am, while search­ing un­der a yel­low tar­pau­lin, po­lice ob­served a green cloth tucked un­der the ma­te­r­i­al where they found the black and sil­ver firearm.
