A po­lice of­fi­cer as­signed to the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force Area South was shot in the leg by his own firearm on Thurs­day morn­ing. 

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 8.50 am the Po­lice Con­sta­ble was at his home in Brazil Vil­lage armed with his per­son­al firearm hol­sters to the left side of the hip when he en­tered in­to the dri­ver's seat of his ve­hi­cle. He then heard a loud ex­plo­sion and felt a burn­ing sen­sa­tion to his left up­per thigh. 

The of­fi­cer called his col­leagues who re­spond­ed and took him to the hos­pi­tal where he was treat­ed and dis­charged.
