To­ba­go po­lice are search­ing for two men be­hind an armed heist at Caribbean Jew­el­ers at the Gulf City Low­lands Mall just be­fore mid­day yes­ter­day.

CCTV sur­veil­lance footage in­side the store, shared via so­cial me­dia, showed two ban­dits wear­ing con­struc­tion hats and safe­ty jack­ets pos­ing as cus­tomers be­fore rob­bing the store.

In the clip, one of the ban­dits was seen kick­ing and stamp­ing the se­cu­ri­ty guard on his head and body as he crouched on the ground.

The sec­ond sus­pect was seen leav­ing from the back of the store with a black garbage bag.

Po­lice said the se­cu­ri­ty guard sus­tained in­juries to the head.

When Guardian Me­dia vis­it­ed the mall, pa­trons and busi­ness own­ers were tight-lipped and work­ers at near­by stores said they were left trau­ma­tised.

One woman who didn’t want to be named said, “This can­not be hap­pen­ing in To­ba­go and in broad day­light. When we get this bad it’s time to pack up and leave.”

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the ban­dits es­caped with an undis­closed amount of jew­ellery.
