An Arima man was gunned down on Tuesday afternoon while walking home after purchasing two bottles of oil and a water at a nearby shop.
Adrian Wilson, 29, of Guava Avenue, Bye Pass Road Arima, was shot dead around Around 3.15 pm.
Police said Wilson left the parlour at Church Street where he had just bought the items and began walking back home.
Minutes after, a car stopped and three masked men alighted and opened fire on him.
As he fell to the ground, the gunmen escaped in the waiting vehicle.
Passersby alerted police and covered Wilson’s body with a white sheet until investigators arrived.
Forensic officers recovered 23 spent 9mm shells and four 7.62 mm spent shells at the scene, along with two bottles of oil, one bottled water, and a cigarette lighter.
Wilson’s body was ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre, St James, by the District Medical Officer.
In a separate incident on Tuesday night, St James resident David Figueroa was reportedly killed over an argument relating to his playing of loud music.
The 32-year-old of Sage Street was shot around 11.30 pm
Reports said Figueroa had been warned several times by another resident about his habit to play music loudly, which was said to be a bother for those living nearby.
Figueroa died at the scene.
Investigations are continuing into both murders
