In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to two shoot­ing in­ci­dents on Mon­day night in which three peo­ple were in­jured. The in­ci­dents oc­curred at Mal­abar and Mara­cas/St Joseph.

Po­lice said at about 7.45 pm, a 41-year-old man and a 58-year-old man were sit­ting un­der a tree in a sa­van­nah on Banyan Boule­vard, Mal­abar, when a dark-coloured ve­hi­cle stopped along­side them. Three men dressed in black, two of them armed with guns, came out of the ve­hi­cle and fired sev­er­al shots at them.

The men were tak­en to the Ari­ma Health Fa­cil­i­ty where they were treat­ed and ward­ed. Po­lice re­cov­ered 28 spent 9mm shells on the scene.

In Mara­cas/St Joseph, at about 8.20 pm, po­lice of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to a re­port of a shoot­ing in progress at Belle View Hill, Acono Road. When they ar­rived at the scene they were told noth­ing like that hap­pened in the area. They were how­ev­er lat­er in­formed by res­i­dents that some­one was tak­en to the hos­pi­tal for gun­shot wounds.

Of­fi­cers vis­it­ed the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex where they were told by se­cu­ri­ty that the vic­tim was brought in­to the hos­pi­tal at about 8.35 pm with mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds and was sent for emer­gency surgery.
