Central Division police arrested two suspects and seized nine vehicles—three Nissan B14, one Nissan B15, four Nissan B13 and one Nissan Pulsar—in an intelligence-led exercise.
At around 9.15 am, the officers went to Tortuga Avenue, Exchange Gardens, Couva where they detained a Princes Town man in connection with several reports of motor vehicle larceny. Acting on further information, they then went to Mt D’or Road, Champ Fleurs, where they arrested a 35-year-old man and seized, a Nissan B14, a Nissan B15 and three Nissan B13 vehicles.
The officers then went to Brickfield Road, Carapichaima, where they seized a Nissan Pulsar, a Nissan B13 and two Nissan B14 vehicles.
The recovered vehicles had been reported stolen in various policing districts. They were taken to the Cunupia Police Station and investigations are continuing.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Curt Simon, Supt Pierre, Supt Teewarie, ASP Dipchand, Insp Ablacksingh and coordinated by Sgt Cielto (Ag) and members of the Central Division Gang Unit with assistance from Sgt Nelson and members of the Chaguanas CID, Cyber Crime, Stolen Vehicles Unit, and Central Division Task Force Area North.
