Investigations are ongoing into the discoveries of firearms, a quantity of ammunition, bulletproof vest housing and camouflage clothing, during police exercises yesterday.
The Police Service reports that officers of the Western Division Gang & Intelligence Unit received information that led them to Cuthbert Circular, Four Roads, Diego Martin. The officers conducted a search in an area allegedly used for drug transactions.
During the search, the officers discovered one Walter pistol and a quantity of nine-millimetre ammunition. The items were removed for processing and investigations are ongoing into the discovery.
In another incident, the TTPS says North-Central Division officers, while on an exercise, received information that led them to Farm Road Extension, St. Joseph.
The officers made their way to a bushy area and searched of a shack (of dimensions 10 feet by 10 feet), where they found a WT holster, two green camouflage jackets, two pairs of green camouflage long pants, four outer housings for bulletproof vests, and a black revolver with yellow electrical tape.
The officers seized the items from the premises.
