Po­lice seized quan­ti­ties of mar­i­jua­na, am­mu­ni­tion, and cam­ou­flage cloth­ing dur­ing po­lice ex­er­cis­es in Sea Lots and Bel­mont this morn­ing. The ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed by of­fi­cers of the Port of Spain Di­vi­sion Task Force

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, based on in­tel­li­gence, the of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to a house in Sea Lots, where a search was con­duct­ed for arms and am­mu­ni­tion. Dur­ing the search, four rounds of 5.56 am­mu­ni­tion were dis­cov­ered con­cealed in­side of a mat­tress. A 44-year-old man was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find.

As the ex­er­cise con­tin­ued, the of­fi­cers con­duct­ed a search at a house in Bel­mont, where of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered and seized one cam­ou­flage jer­sey, along with three mil­i­tary caps, one cam­ou­flage rag and 130 grammes of mar­i­jua­na.

A 30-year-old man who was in the house at the time of the search was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the finds. Charges are ex­pect­ed to be laid as a re­sult of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion. PC Bou­caud is con­tin­u­ing en­quires.
