A 44-year-old man, who was reported missing on Monday, was found dead yesterday morning in Petit Bourg.
Police said Donny Dick, a resident of Beatrice Street in Couva, was last seen by his wife around 5:30 pm on Monday. His gold-coloured Tiida vehicle was located in the Mount Hope area on Tuesday, raising concerns about his safety.
However, around 9 yesterday morning residents of Irving Street, Petit Bourg saw Dick lying dead in a yard.
He appeared to have been shot.
Investigators suspect that robbery was the motive behind his murder. They are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the police via 555, 999, or 800-TIPS.
Shooting leaves 2 injured
Two men were shot and wounded on Tuesday night in Diego Martin.
Police said at 9.50 pm two men - a 49-year-old from Upper Covigne Road, and a 27-year-old from Superville, Quarry Road, were both shot while near a liquor mart.
Police said residents reported hearing several gunshots and saw two men getting into a vehicle and driving away.
The two victims were taken to the St James Medical Facility for treatment.
Woman stabbed while asleep
Police are searching for suspects in connection with a stabbing and chopping on Sunday.
In Arima, a 41-year-old woman was stabbed while sleeping at her Tumpuna Road home. Police said around 2 am the woman was asleep and awoke to find a man stabbing her in her arms and hands. She managed to run by neighbours who contacted the police. She was being treated at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
In a separate incident, around 11 pm in Dinsley Village, Tacarigua, a teenager was chopped by a man near a burger cart. His brother had been making a purchase moments before when he got into a confrontation with another man. The teen was chopped on the hand and taken to hospital.
