Police arrested a 49-year-old Point Fortin man after uncovering a cannabis cultivation operation at his home on Tuesday.
During an anti-crime operation under the Emergency Powers Regulations for firearms and Ammunition, they searched the man's home at Jah Roots Avenue, Warden Road where they allegedly found a room on the ground floor the officers found what they described as a grow lab consisting of 20 cannabis plants with LED Grow lights, fans and bottles of fertilizers.
In the yard, police observed a concrete platform, supported with iron posts and covered with plastic, allegedly housing a large quantity of marijuana plants, along with fertilizer bottles, shovels, spray cans, and additional LED grow lights.
The exercise, conducted between 6 pm and 10 pm, was spearheaded by Snr Supt Thompson, included PC Mohansingh and other officers from the Point Fortin CID and South Western Division Task Force.
