Popular Port-of-Spain businessman Parmanan “Pancho” Yarna, a familiar and beloved figure in the capital’s business community, has passed away.
He died just after midday yesterday at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
Pancho, who had been in business for 42 years, was widely known for his presence on Edward Street, where he built a legacy that touched many in the city.
He passed away on his 72nd birthday while undergoing treatment, following a two-week illness.
His son, Curtis Yarna, described the news as a shock to the family, saying, “My father fought a good fight. He was a strong man, and his spirit will always be remembered.”
Pancho’s dedication and long-standing contribution to the business community were recently recognised by the Port-of-Spain City Corporation, honouring his enduring impact on the city.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
