?Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip will arrive at 3 pm today on their third visit to T&T.
The aircraft bearing the Royal Couple and their delegation is expected to touch down at Piarco Airport at 3 pm to a presidential salute. Their next engagement today is a wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph, Port-of-Spain. The Royal Couple visited T&T for the first time in 1966 and subsequently in 1985. The Queen's delegation will be based at the Carlton Savannah Hotel, Cascade. Tonight the Royal Couple will be the guests of honour at a State banquet, hosted by President George Maxwell Richards and his wife Jean Richards, at President's House. Tomorrow the Queen will launch the 21st Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting at the new Academy for the Performing Arts at 9.45 am.
The Queen, titular head of the Commonwealth, will deliver the feature address. Following that function, Prince Philip meets with former servicemen at Knowsley Building, Port-of-Spain. The Prince also will visit Tobago's Coral Cay Foundation tomorrow and attend a cultural performance at Tobago's Blue Haven Hotel. The Royal Couple is also expected to attend receptions at the Hyatt and Diplomatic Centre. On Saturday morning they will attend a children's rally at Queen's Hall They leave T&T at 8 pm.
