Over the course of his illustrious career, "Big Brother Dave" as he would later be known fondly worked as a radio announcer for more than 35 years, and he also transitioned to television.
Elcock hosted “T&T Tonight”, a music and talk television show that aired for two seasons on T&T Television (TTT) in the 1970s.
Dubbed the “Dean of Broadcasters” by his peers because of his “versatility and dominance of the early morning airwaves”, he set the bar high for local broadcasting.
After graduating from his alma mater, Queen's Royal College (QRC), he joined the ground-breaking Radio 610 as a trainee announcer in 1962, the same year T&T gained independence from Britain.
The David Elcock Morning Show was so successful that it topped the national annual radio surveys for close to 15 years.
