Relatives of a 67-year-old man are calling for the person who bounced and critically injured him on Sunday evening to come forward.
"The incident has left us in disbelief. Not the fact that it happened but, that the person responsible left him there to die. Without thinking of the damage they did to him without treating him as a human," his niece said.
Stephen Peter Daniel of Rich Plain Road Diego Martin was hit by a black vehicle near the Traffic lights on the Diego Martin Highway in the vicinity of KFC.
The incident happened at approximately 6:30 pm and the man whose alias is 'Horrors' was taken to the St. James Medical Complex by police, treated and transferred to the Port of Spain General Hospital. He remains in critical condition.
"His brain is bleeding even after emergency surgery," his niece said.
West End police are investigating the incident but his family is still asking anyone with information to please come forward.
"He isn’t crazy like most people may have thought. He has his issues and the family would always beg him not to be there and to go home. He has a home and a loving family. We just want whoever it is to claim responsibility. He is a human being. Treat him with the respect as one deserves."
Anyone with information is being asked to call the West End Police Station at 637-4226.
"Think if it was your Father, Brother, or Uncle. If it was your family and someone left them to die. How would you feel?” she asked.
