Rel­a­tives of a 67-year-old man are call­ing for the per­son who bounced and crit­i­cal­ly in­jured him on Sun­day evening to come for­ward.

"The in­ci­dent has left us in dis­be­lief. Not the fact that it hap­pened but, that the per­son re­spon­si­ble left him there to die. With­out think­ing of the dam­age they did to him with­out treat­ing him as a hu­man," his niece said.

Stephen Pe­ter Daniel of Rich Plain Road Diego Mar­tin was hit by a black ve­hi­cle near the Traf­fic lights on the Diego Mar­tin High­way in the vicin­i­ty of KFC.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened at ap­prox­i­mate­ly 6:30 pm and the man whose alias is 'Hor­rors' was tak­en to the St. James Med­ical Com­plex by po­lice, treat­ed and trans­ferred to the Port of Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal. He re­mains in crit­i­cal con­di­tion.

"His brain is bleed­ing even af­ter emer­gency surgery," his niece said.

West End po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the in­ci­dent but his fam­i­ly is still ask­ing any­one with in­for­ma­tion to please come for­ward.

"He isn’t crazy like most peo­ple may have thought. He has his is­sues and the fam­i­ly would al­ways beg him not to be there and to go home. He has a home and a lov­ing fam­i­ly. We just want who­ev­er it is to claim re­spon­si­bil­i­ty. He is a hu­man be­ing. Treat him with the re­spect as one de­serves."

"Think if it was your Fa­ther, Broth­er, or Un­cle. If it was your fam­i­ly and some­one left them to die. How would you feel?” she asked.
