Gusty winds ripped through sev­er­al homes and downed trees and elec­tric­i­ty poles in parts of Pe­nal, Fyz­abad, and Siparia just af­ter mid­day on Sat­ur­day. Among the ar­eas af­fect­ed were Seemu­n­gal Trace, Pe­nal, In­cin­er­a­tor Road, Fyz­abad, Par­tap Trace, Are­na Vil­lage, Erin, and Senon Vil­lage, Pe­nal Quinam Road.

Fam­i­lies with roof dam­age in­clud­ed Na­dine Ed­wards of Quinam and Amardeo Phoo­doe of Fyz­abad Branch Road.

Siparia May­or Dood­nath Mayrhoo and Chair­man of the Pe­nal Debe Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion Gow­tam Ma­haraj told CNC3 News that teams from the Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment Unit have been ac­ti­vat­ed to as­sist res­i­dents.
