The ceno­taph at Memo­r­i­al Square has been hand­ed over the De­fence Force, fol­low­ing a project to re­store it to its orig­i­nal colour.

The hand­ing-over cer­e­mo­ny took place this morn­ing at the square.

The world recog­nis­es Armistice Day (Memo­r­i­al Day in T&T) on Sun­day.

It com­mem­o­rates the lives of those who lost their lives in both World War I and World War II.

Sun­day al­so marks ex­act­ly 100 years since the sign­ing of the Armistice that end­ed World War I, on No­vem­ber 11, 1918.
