Just three months after losing his mother, a Rio Claro man was hit with another tragedy after his house was destroyed by fire.
Now, 42-year-old Ramesh Deen is trying to rebuild his home, but he’s seeking help from the public since he is unemployed and comes from modest means.
Deen said he lived with his mother but since her passing in January, he had been living alone.
He said he was not at home when fire engulfed his house at 31 Mile Mark, Tabaquite Road, on April 19.
Deen claimed the fire was deliberately set, but he has not yet received the official cause of the fire from the Fire Service.
He said everything he owned — from furniture and appliances to documents and clothing — was lost in the blaze.
Still trying to recover from losing his home, Deen said it’s been challenging, and while he is temporarily staying with his sister, he desperately wants to rebuild his home.
He had lived there for over 30 years.
