The body of 14-year-old Sameer Rag­bir, who got in­to dif­fi­cul­ties while swim­ming at a beach in Ma­yaro on Mon­day, has been found.

His re­mains were re­cov­ered ear­li­er to­day, fol­low­ing an in­ten­sive search that be­gan on May 5, 2025.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands that short­ly be­fore 11 am to­day (May 7), his body got caught in a fish­er­man's net close to shore, not far from where he had got in­to dif­fi­cul­ties.

Sameer, along with his two sis­ters, went to the Sun­set Beach Re­sort in Ma­yaro on Mon­day, to cel­e­brate one of their birth­days.

He got in­to dif­fi­cul­ty and dis­ap­peared around 3:30 pm while bathing at about 200 feet from the shore.

The Hunters Search and Res­cue Team had been as­sist­ing in the search for the teen.
