A 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with two separate incidents where he attacked two men on Thursday morning.

In the first incident, police said a 24-year-old man was sitting on a bench on Petit Curucaye Road at 10.45 am, when he noticed the suspect riding on a motorcycle.

He looked up and saw the same man holding a gas canister and threatening to burn him alive.

The man ran through a nearby yard, escaping his attacker.

Shortly after, three men went to the same bench when they noticed the same man pointing a gun at them.

The trio ran away, but one of them was shot in the left buttocks.

A passer-by took the bleeding man to the hospital, where he was being treated yesterday morning after undergoing emergency surgery.

A report was made to the police and officers of the North-Eastern Division Task Force and the San Juan CID visited the scene where they found the suspect and arrested him.
