A 38-year-old man was arrested in relation to two incidents where he attacked two men on Thursday morning.

In the first incident, a 24-year-old man was sitting on a bench on Petit Curucaye Road, at around 10.45 am when he noticed the suspect ride past on a motorcycle.

The victim continued to scroll on his phone but later felt a liquid with a strong odour being poured over him.

As he looked around, he saw the same man holding a gas canister and threatening to burn him alive.

The man ran through a nearby yard, escaping his attacker.

Shortly after, three men went to the same bench when they noticed the same man pointing a gun at them.

The trio ran away, however one of them was shot in the left buttocks.

A passer-by took the bleeding man to hospital where he remained warded up to Friday morning after receiving emergency surgery.

A report was made to police and officers of the North-Eastern Division Task Force and the San Juan CID visited the scene where they found the suspect and arrested him.
