A Sea Lots man re­mained ward­ed in crit­i­cal con­di­tion yes­ter­day af­ter he was shot by a gun­man in the area.

Res­i­dents of Pi­o­neer Dri­ve re­port­ed hear­ing loud ex­plo­sions around mid­day. Short­ly af­ter, they found the 27-year-old vic­tim bleed­ing from a wound to the right side of his neck.

Res­i­dents alert­ed the po­lice and Emer­gency Health Ser­vices and stayed with the man un­til para­medics ar­rived.

He was tak­en to the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal, where he was treat­ed and lat­er ward­ed in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion.
