Police have intensified their search for 23-year-old Andrea Bharatt by focussing their efforts near an abandoned estate in Nonpariel Road, Sangre Grande, from early this morning.

Police officers from the Eastern Division, along with help from the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, are scouring a forested area in hopes of locating Bharatt.

Andrea Bharatt was kidnapped on Friday last, after entering a taxi with her co-worker.

After dropping off her female co-worker, the men the vehicle allegedly kidnapped the Arima Magistrate clerk who has not been seen since.

One of the alleged kidnappers had told her father on Friday night—when he finally got through to her cellphone—that he “wanted some money” or he would “cut off her ears and send it” to him.

Since then, four men were detained in East Trinidad for questioning in relation to her disappearance.

More on this story as it develops.
