Seventeen days after a vendor was killed in Chaguanas, another vendor was gunned down minutes after leaving a bar in Freeport on Tuesday night.
He was identified as Adrian Nyack, 28, of Roy Clark Trace, Calcutta No. 2, Freeport and 15th Street, Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas. Nyack was a vendor.
According to a police report, around 10.20 pm Nyack had just left a bar at Old Southern Main Road, St Mary's Junction when two men ambushed him, one of which shot him several times.
Nyack was taken to the Couva District Health Facility where he was treated for gunshot wounds to the back and legs, however, he succumbed to his injuries around 11.29 pm.
Police are yet to determine a motive for the killing.
Homicide Region III officers are currently investigating two separate murders that occurred in Central on Monday.
On December 18, around 10.45 pm Mark Harracksingh, 29, of No. 23 Gout Street, Exchange, Couva, was shot while in the vicinity of the JMMB Bank, Southern Main Road, Chaguanas.
Police said Harracksingh and his common-law wife, Akeela Mitchell, who are both vendors, completed sales and were exiting the compound of the Flea Market at the Mid Centre Mall, Chaguanas via the southern gate opposite the JMMB Bank when a vehicle approached them.
One of the three occupants that were in the vehicle pointed a firearm at Harracksingh and opened fire killing him on the scene.
