Security guard robbed of company gun, ammunition

A pre­cept­ed se­cu­ri­ty guard on the way to lodge his com­pa­ny-is­sued firearm at the Arou­ca Po­lice Sta­tion, was ac­cost­ed and robbed of the weapon and a quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion by two armed men on Tues­day.

The 36-year-old who lives at Dins­ley Vil­lage, Tacarigua is em­ployed as a se­cu­ri­ty of­fi­cer with Safe Time Pro­tec­tion Ser­vices.

The vic­tim re­port­ed to po­lice that as he was walk­ing north along Joyeau Street, Curepe around 6.15 pm on June 24 a white Nis­san AD Wag­on with three men whose heads and faces were cov­ered with jer­seys, pulled along­side him.

He said two of the sus­pects who were armed with firearms, point­ed them at him and an­nounced a rob­bery be­fore grab­bing his black bag which con­tained a Glock pis­tol and two mag­a­zines con­tain­ing 25 rounds of 9 mm am­mu­ni­tion.

His Pre­cept ID and $200 in cash, which was in the bag, was al­so stolen.

The sus­pects al­so took the vic­tim’s wal­let which con­tained $1,000 in cash and his Sam­sung A14 cell phone val­ued at $2,000.
