A precepted security guard on the way to lodge his company-issued firearm at the Arouca Police Station, was accosted and robbed of the weapon and a quantity of ammunition by two armed men on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old who lives at Dinsley Village, Tacarigua is employed as a security officer with Safe Time Protection Services.
The victim reported to police that as he was walking north along Joyeau Street, Curepe around 6.15 pm on June 24 a white Nissan AD Wagon with three men whose heads and faces were covered with jerseys, pulled alongside him.
He said two of the suspects who were armed with firearms, pointed them at him and announced a robbery before grabbing his black bag which contained a Glock pistol and two magazines containing 25 rounds of 9 mm ammunition.
His Precept ID and $200 in cash, which was in the bag, was also stolen.
The suspects also took the victim’s wallet which contained $1,000 in cash and his Samsung A14 cell phone valued at $2,000.
