The testimony of the State's main witness in the preliminary inquiry into Senior Counsel Dana Seetahal's murder is causing massive traffic gridlock leading into Port-of-Spain this morning.
While there are regular traffic restrictions for weekly hearings of the case at the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Court, the T&T Police Service (TTPS) reportedly imposed extra measures this morning as the witness was starting to give evidence.
In addition to blocking the streets in front of the courthouse, police also advised that there was no parking allowed along St Vincent Street between Gordon and Duke Streets from 3 am to 11 am.
The restrictions had an obvious domino effect as traffic along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway backed up all the way to Trincity. It also affected traffic coming from central and south Trinidad.
