A business executive and a senior official with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) were robbed while driving through Curepe on Sunday night.
Police said the 38-year-old man and the 43-year-old woman were travelling in a silver Hyundai Tucson on Frederick Street, Curepe, at around 8.50 pm when a white Nissan Tiida that was driving in front of them stopped, blocking their path.
Four masked men got out of the Tiida, two of which had guns and ordered them out of the car. The bandits stole two cellphones, cash and a handbag, before driving off in their Tucson, followed by the Tiida.
Police were called in and found the Tucson abandoned on Bamboo Drive, Champs Fleurs. The car was towed to the St Joseph police station where enquiries are continuing.
