Seven arrested in DSS Tobago line, registration halted

Sev­en per­sons were ar­rest­ed in Crown Point, To­ba­go, for breach­ing the COVID-19 so­cial dis­tance rules on Sat­ur­day morn­ing as they tried to reg­is­ter at DSS To­ba­go, Shep­herds Inn, Old Store Bay Road, Crown Point.

This is ac­cord­ing to a se­nior po­lice of­fi­cial at the scene this morn­ing.

A se­nior fe­male of­fi­cer in­struct­ed to speak to Guardian Me­dia by the of­fi­cer in charge of the po­lice op­er­a­tions -Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Si­mon, said the per­sons had bro­ken the law COVID-19 rules.

” They were not so­cial dis­tanc­ing, and we took ac­tion,” she told Guardian Me­dia.

At noon, the of­fi­cer told Guardian Me­dia the po­lice stopped reg­is­tra­tion at 10:30 am.

Asked if it was the end of reg­is­tra­tion for the day, she said, “it de­pends on how things are go­ing.”

DSS To­ba­go was for­mal­ly launched in To­ba­go to­day (Sat­ur­day, Oc­to­ber 17, 2020).
