Sev­en sus­pects were ar­rest­ed and two firearms and quan­ti­ties of am­mu­ni­tion and nar­cotics seized by of­fi­cers dur­ing on­go­ing an­ti­crime ex­er­cis­es, con­duct­ed in the North East­ern and South­ern Di­vi­sions on Thurs­day.

In the first ex­er­cise, Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise in the North East­ern Di­vi­sion be­tween 10 am and 1 pm, on Thurs­day.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to Sev­enth Av­enue, Mal­ick, where they ar­rest­ed a 29-year-old sus­pect of Barataria, who was found in pos­ses­sion of a Glock pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 14 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

A sec­ond man, a 28-year-old of Mal­ick, was al­so held by of­fi­cers in re­la­tion to shoot­ing of­fences.

Mean­while, of­fi­cers of the Barataria Po­lice Sta­tion con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise in the dis­trict be­tween 7:30 pm yes­ter­day and 1:30 am, to­day, Fri­day 9th Feb­ru­ary, 2024, dur­ing which they ar­rest­ed a 19-year-old Aranguez man, for pos­ses­sion of a Smith and Wes­son re­volver loaded with three rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

In the South­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers of the Gas­par­il­lo Po­lice Sta­tion, Gas­par­il­lo Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment and St. Mar­garet’s Po­lice Sta­tion con­duct­ed an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise around 10:15 pm, on Thurs­day.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, the of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to a bar in the Bonne Aven­ture dis­trict where they ar­rest­ed two men, ages 21 and 20, both of Gas­par­il­lo, for pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing.

The same par­ty of of­fi­cers al­so held two oth­er per­sons in the dis­trict; a 66-year-old man in con­nec­tion with wound­ing of­fences and a 47-year-old man for pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion.
