Days after the murders of his 13-year-old daughter and his paralysed brother, Eddy Lallan remains warded at hospital in a stable condition.
While investigators have not yet made any arrests, Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher said last week that the police were working on leads that could solve the case.
Andrea Lallan and her uncle Sylvan were shot in the head while they slept at their Old Mayaro Road, Libertville home, around 2 am last Friday.
Eddy, who receives a disability grant, was shot in his neck.
He sought assistance from a neighbour, who took him to the health centre, where he was treated and transferred to the Sangre Grande Hospital.
Andrea, who attended St Therese RC School, and her father went to the police station on Thursday in relation to a recent report of rape she made against a couple.
Hours after the shooting incident on Friday, a couple, a 49-year-old contractor and a 23-year-old house cleaner, appeared in court charged with two counts of sexual penetration of a child.
Bail was denied to the man while the woman was put on $500,000 bail.
Lallan's sister Gloria Harris did not speak with the media on Friday.
However on her Facebook page, she questioned why her relatives were killed.
She posted, "My brother u on a wheel chair u interfer with no 1 but they kill u." Harris recalled that five days before the incident, she dropped a meal for them. "I tell Andrea and Eddy make sure they give u (Sylvan) some of d food, not knowing it would be the last I see u and speak to u, Lord my life just crumble d pain hurt loss nothing can heal. Rip my brother my niece God will answer my pray, I am a warrior, I am victorious through Jesus Christ My Lord, Judge, Redeemer."
The police have not yet confirmed a motive, but Guardian Media understands that the girl and her father had recently received death threats.
Crime scene investigators had retrieved eight 9 mm spent shells and a projectile at the scene.
Meanwhile, the autopsies are expected to be performed at the Forensic Science Centre this week. Investigations are continuing
