The Siparia Dis­trict Court has been closed to­day, and will re­main so un­til fur­ther no­tice, af­ter news that a staff mem­ber may have been ex­posed to the coro­n­avirus.

Ac­cord­ing to a state­ment re­leased by The Ju­di­cia­ry, clos­ing down the Court is a nec­es­sary “pre­cau­tion­ary mea­sure”.

“The clo­sure has be­come nec­es­sary as a pre­cau­tion­ary mea­sure giv­en that a mem­ber of staff could have been ex­posed to a pri­ma­ry con­tact,” the state­ment ex­plained. “While the staff mem­ber has not been con­firmed as a Covid-19 case, the usu­al pre­cau­tions have called for the cur­rent course of ac­tion.”

The state­ment went on to as­sure that Court busi­ness will con­tin­ue.

“The sani­ti­sa­tion of the fa­cil­i­ty will be con­duct­ed and there shall be no in-per­son hear­ings or ac­tiv­i­ties. Vir­tu­al Court Hear­ings will con­tin­ue,” the state­ment said.
