Six peo­ple head­ing out from a riv­er lime at Cau­ra on Mon­day were ar­rest­ed for drunk dri­ving while an­oth­er 10 re­ceived fixed penal­ty no­tices.

Po­lice said they were ar­rest­ed, processed and charged at the Tu­na­puna Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice Sta­tion.

Of­fi­cers said breath analy­sis test­ing was done by cer­ti­fied mem­bers of the Ch­agua­nas Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice Sta­tion.

The ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed dur­ing the hours of 5 pm to 9 pm in the Cau­ra area by of­fi­cers from the Tu­na­puna, Ch­agua­nas and the Ari­ma Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice.

Po­lice have re­peat­ed­ly warned mo­torists against drink­ing and dri­ving.
