Woodford Cafe, Chaguanas saw an overflow of soca lovers packed into the venue at the launch of the 8th edition of Slam concert series on Wednesday.
Soca enthusiast party the night away to artiste locally and from the region well into Thursday morning. The event hosted by radio station, Slam Progressive Urban 100.5 FM and featured big names like Farmer Nappy, Erphaan Alves, Nailah Blackman, Preedy, Shal Marshall, Ricardo Drue, Sekon Star and Tedison John.
Patrons anticipated Nappy’s presentation and even as station presenter Kevaughn “Lurbz” Savory appeared on stage carrying a garbage bag threw them in a frenzy.
But Nappy pressed for time on stage, performed his popular 2019 soca, Hookin Meh and some other songs before he retreated back stage.
But the crowd chanted lines of the infectious Hookin Meh soca, in a bid that the artiste return to stage, which proved futile.
The concert will run every Wednesday until February.
Here are some of the highlights of the event.
