The so­ca fra­ter­ni­ty is ral­ly­ing around one of their own, Blaxx (Dex­ter Stew­art) who is crit­i­cal­ly ill in hos­pi­tal and fac­ing mount­ing med­ical bills.

The ‘D All Stars’ lead vo­cal­ist, whose hits in­clude ‘Leh Go’, ‘Hulk’ and ‘Breath­less’, is cur­rent­ly be­ing treat­ed at a pri­vate hos­pi­tal for flu­id in his lungs. He had pre­vi­ous­ly been ward­ed for three weeks at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex.

His health chal­lenges be­came known af­ter DJ and en­ter­tain­er Dawg E Slaugh­ter set up an ac­c­pount to raise funds for his mount­ing med­ical ex­pens­es. Among the first to re­spond was Machel Mon­tano who post­ed a video on In­stra­gram ap­peal­ing to fans to do­nate to the ac­count.

He said: "To­day I would like to join a call to sup­port our broth­er Blaxx on his jour­ney to re­cov­ery. Blaxx, we in the so­ca fra­ter­ni­ty, friends and fans, we stand in sup­port of you at his time,"

Al­so ap­peal­ing for help on so­cial me­dia was Kes The Band: "Ever since we en­tered in­to So­ca mu­sic Sir Dex­ter Blaxx has al­ways giv­en en­cour­age­ment and words of ad­vice in his own ' Plain talk Bad man­ners ' way. You had to lis­ten . Lead­ers and el­ders are need­ed at all times to guide the fu­ture . We sup­port you at this time @ds­blaxx and wish you true heal­ing."

Oth­er so­ca stars, in­clud­ing De­stra Gar­cia, have al­so been ap­peal­ing for help for Blaxx.
