A Lance Cor­po­ral of the Trinidad and To­ba­go De­fence Force (TTDF) has been ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with a re­port of lar­ce­ny of a cel­lu­lar phone.

A fe­male vic­tim re­port­ed to the Pi­ar­co Po­lice Sta­tion that around 3 pm, on Fri­day 3rd May, she con­nect­ed her cel­lu­lar phone and charg­er in­to a charg­ing port at the Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port. She al­leges when she checked for the phone and charg­er at 3:30 pm, she dis­cov­ered it miss­ing.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors ob­tained video footage rel­a­tive to the re­port which al­leged­ly showed a man dressed in an Army cam­ou­flage uni­form re­move the cel­lu­lar phone and charg­er, place it in­to his pock­et and then ex­it the air­port. He is al­so al­leged to have dri­ven away in a marked TTDF ve­hi­cle.

The sus­pect was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the in­ci­dent on May 14th, 2024 by of­fi­cers of the Pi­ar­co Po­lice Sta­tion.
