The son of a se­nior po­lice of­fi­cer was killed on Thurs­day night at Care­nage.

The de­ceased has been iden­ti­fied as Kwe­si Brown, 27, of 51 Rod­ney Street, Pt Cumana, Care­nage.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 9:30 pm, Brown and his 18-year-old cousin were in a track off Rod­ney Street in the com­pa­ny of oth­er fam­i­ly mem­bers when they heard a se­ries of gun­shots.

Fear­ing for their lives, the crowd dis­persed.  A short while af­ter­wards, Brown stum­bled in­to his grand­moth­er's home suf­fer­ing from mul­ti­ple gun­shot in­juries about the body. He was tak­en to the St James Med­ical Hos­pi­tal by PC Em­manuel in the com­pa­ny of PC Sorzano.

How­ev­er, at about 9:50 pm he suc­cumbed to his in­juries.

He was the son of ASP Browne.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
