A 42-year-old man remained in police custody today after slitting his mother’s throat during an argument.
Both the suspect and victim, aged 60, live in Longdenville.
The housewife was allegedly attacked around 3.45 pm on Sunday at home, as the two were engaged in a property dispute.
The suspect was reported to have armed himself with a cutlass and slit his mother’s throat, following which he walked out of the house.
The injured woman was taken to the Chaguanas District Health Facility where she was treated, before being transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, where she was warded in a stable condition.
